This phase of the trail connected the west trail to the old red mill area and dam and parking at the artesian spring at North (Dopp) Park. It will also add parking, ADA-accessible trails, and a picnic area to the north end of the Boardwalk.

A slide show of the initial phase of Boardwalk appears below. The Boardwalk is acessible to non-motorized traffice only. The trail begins at Main Street, Wild Rose, just across from the Vintage Garden Restaurant. It follows River Street to Roberts Park and continues on the west shoreline of the MIll Pond and now connects to trails across the top of the dam and the foundation of the dam used in the early Twentieth Century for water generated electricity when the village of Wild Rose was first electrified.
